During a sea expedition, the crew of the ship "Duncan", which belonged to Lord and Lady Glenarvan, caught a huge hammerhead fish. In the belly of the dead animal, they found a bottle with a note. It reported in three languages that Captain Grant and several members of his crew survived the shipwreck, having managed to swim to a small island.
