Payment and delivery

Payment Methods:
You can pay by credit card or PayPal at the time of checkout. For Canada, payment via e-transfer (Interac) to info@karuselbooks.com is also available.

Free Shipping:
Free shipping is available for orders over $75 (after discounts and before taxes, excluding the cost of gift certificates added to the cart).

  • For delivery within Canada: free shipping applies to orders over 75 CAD.
  • For delivery to the USA: free shipping applies to orders over 75 USD, except for Alaska and certain other remote regions with paid shipping.
  • For orders below this amount (as well as for deliveries to other countries), the shipping cost is calculated at checkout.

Taxes and Duties:

  • USA – No taxes or duties.
    UPDATE AS OF FEBRUARY 1, 2025: We are still unsure how the 25% customs duty regulation will be applied. As of now, all parcels are shipped via UPS, with the sender covering the duty costs. The amount you pay at checkout is final; no additional charges will be applied.

  • Canada – Taxes are applied according to the province where the order is being shipped.

  • Europe & International – You may be required to pay taxes and duties upon receiving your order. Please check with your local authorities in advance.

Delivery Time:
A tracking code will be sent to you within 24 hours.

Most packages are shipped via UPS:

  • USA: estimated delivery time 3-7 business days
  • Canada: estimated delivery time 2-7 business days

We only ship to residential or business addresses. Unfortunately, we cannot deliver to PO Boxes.
Expedited shipping is also available at an additional cost. We provide tracking information so you can follow your order’s status. While we do not control delivery speeds, we are always happy to contact the courier service if your package is delayed beyond the estimated timeframe.

Local Pickup (Montreal Residents):
We offer free in-store pickup for orders of any amount. Additionally, for pickup orders, we will credit your account with an amount equivalent to 10% of your order (after discounts and before taxes).

Our store is located at 4215 Beaubien Est, Montreal.
We are open daily from 10 AM to 4 PM, including Sundays.
You can pay for pickup orders online or in cash at the store. Orders must be picked up within two weeks of placement.

Returns & Product Conditions:
We do not accept returns, as we believe it is not ethical to resell books that may have already been read.

On our website, you can find a section called "Books That Want to Go Home with You", where we offer discounted items with minor defects.

If a defect has slipped past us (such as misbinding, which is rare but can happen), please contact us at info@karuselbooks.com, and we will resolve the issue.

Cover & Packaging Changes:
Occasionally, publishers change a book’s cover, packaging, paper type, or board game components without prior notice. We may not always track minor variations. If key features (such as content, translator, illustrator, binding type, or dimensions) remain unchanged, these cases are not considered defects, and refunds will not be issued.

Discounts & Wholesale Orders:
We happily share discounts with our customers through our loyalty program.
All discounts on our website are activated using promo codes. Only one promo code can be applied per order.

We offer wholesale discounts for Russian-language schools and libraries, and can also supply textbooks upon request at affordable prices.

We can special order any books, including books for adults.

Gift Orders:
If you’re buying a book or game as a gift, leave a comment with your order, and we’ll gladly include a complimentary greeting card from you!

Data Protection:
We do not store your payment details. In fact, we never receive them at all—all payments are processed by independent, PCI DSS-compliant payment systems (The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard).
