И вырасти розы!

And grow roses!

There are very famous books that very few people have actually read, yet they have spawned so much—music, films, household items, and design concepts—that we all feel as though we are well-acquainted with the source material. The BBC once conducted a survey and found that people lie most often about having read "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland." Have you managed to finish that book from cover to cover? Even if you haven't read it, or read it a long time ago, you likely know the plot of the story very well precisely because of the huge number of derivative works (this is not a tautology—it is actually a technical term), and many have turned out to be more interesting than the original.

Before us is one such derivative, the family board game "Alice's Garden."
The game's mechanic is Tetris-based. Each player must arrange a beautiful garden on their board as compactly as possible using standard tetromino shapes: a square, a line, a "T" shape, a "Z" shape, and an "L" shape. Players draw these tiles one by one per turn from lovely green velvet bags. There are also single-square tiles that help fill gaps (though they aren't given to everyone, only the lucky ones). The tiles depict garden inhabitants: flowers, trees, mushrooms, and gardeners. Fitting the elements tightly is only half the battle, as you also need to ensure the garden is laid out according to the principles of landscape design: roses should grow in clusters, trees should be spaced apart, mushrooms should be in columns, it's best to send gardeners into the garden in groups, and chess pieces—what would an Alice story be without them?—must be placed exclusively on the checkered path.

You can play in a group of 2-4 people, and there is also a single-player mode. The game is not difficult, but it is useful: rotating shapes in your mind is good exercise at any age. The rules are explained quickly, and it won't get boring even after repeated plays.

The board game "Alice's Garden" is for players aged 8 and up. That is the manufacturer's recommended age, but in our opinion, it can be played even earlier.
