Ivan Krylov: Fables

The fables of Ivan Andreevich Krylov are familiar to everyone since childhood. Wise and poetic, they have long been recognized as classics of Russian literature and have entered our lives and our language so organically that they have become an integral part of our culture.
Due to their aphorism, the well-aimed expressions of the great fabulist are used in speech along with proverbs and sayings: “But things are still there”, “Sing, little light, do not be ashamed”, “And Vaska listens and eats”, “And the casket just opened” .. .
In this book, Krylov's fables are illustrated by the famous French artist Francois Rouyet, who very ingeniously modernized the classical plots, adding a slight French charm to them.
