The work of a veterinarian is a godsend for a comic book artist, because it contains everything that is necessary to create exciting stories: a variety of plots, drama, dynamics, educational focus... And most importantly, let's face it, endless comic potential.
Writer François Gilson and artist Peral created a three-volume series about the adventures of two fearless and tireless veterinarians, Dr. Dana and Dr. Nat. These doctors always find themselves in funny, ridiculous, dangerous, and sometimes simply incredible situations. And all this in the course of daily work! Their patients are mostly ordinary cats and dogs, although there are, of course, exotic animals: elephants, giraffes and crocodiles, and farm animals: cows, horses and pigs! And they all need examination, vaccinations, and sometimes more serious treatment.
And the most difficult thing in the work of a veterinarian is not the pets, but the owners! The authors have created a whole gallery of funny, absent-minded, and sometimes even a little crazy animal lovers, without whom almost none of the adventures of Dr. Dan and Dr. Nat are complete. And you can’t tell right away what takes more energy from them: tedious chasing after patients or communicating with their eccentric owners!
