Vladimir Obruchev: Plutonia

Russian writer and scientist Vladimir Afanasyevich Obruchev in his novel recreates a picture of the distant past of our planet. The heroes of the book make an incredible journey into the bowels of the Earth, where they will have to overcome many difficulties and dangers.
A group of brave explorers goes on an expedition to the Arctic region, where they discover a stunning underground country, which they called Plutonia and is inhabited by amazing animals, insects and plants that have long since died out on the surface of the Earth. Together with the heroes of the book, readers will meet mammoths and saber-toothed tigers, see flying lizards and gigantic turtles, catch huge dragonflies that look like fabulous elves and, of course, get acquainted with the ancient ancestors of man.
Illustrations by the famous artist Yuri Bogachev take the reader into the mysterious world of Plutonia - a world where the sun shines day and night, giant ants live and vultures of unprecedented size fly.
