This is the story of how the raccoon dog Krivolapych goes in search of a better life. But getting to the goal is not so easy. After spending almost a month, the hero of the book finds himself in a nature reserve, where sometimes dangerous but exciting adventures await him. Here he will make friends with the learned fox Vegan, meet a real local ghost, fall into the hands of the poacher Yari, and also learn how to watch birds on his own.
There are also people in the story “Krivolapych”. For example, Krivolapych’s fox friend named Vegan lives with the museum curator Pekka. He is very careful about nature and keeps a register of all the birds in the reserve. At a difficult moment, Pekka helps Krivolapych, although his very presence in the reserve is considered a serious violation of the natural balance.

At the end of the book you will find a guide to northern birds, which Krivolapych used for his observations.
