What is our world made of? What about us? Is it possible to break an apple down into its smallest "parts" and use them to assemble, say, a pencil? We will figure this out and "play" with the most unusual construction set in the world: atoms, molecules, light photons, electrons, protons, and neutrons; with living cells and even cosmic dust. We will trace the history of the search for the pieces of this construction set and sort everything out together with the original Democritus, the pedantic Ernest Rutherford, the restless Niels Bohr, and the imaginative Dmitri Mendeleev. We will try to crack the universal code of the universe and uncover the secrets of nature’s most amazing "structure" - the human being.
