A.S. Pushkin's famous poem "The Bronze Horseman" was written in Boldino in the autumn of 1833. It depicts the most devastating flood in Saint Petersburg, which occurred on November 7, 1824. Through the lens of this tragic urban event, the poem portrays the fate of the protagonist, the fate of the city, and the fate of the country. During Pushkin's lifetime, only the beginning of the poem was published. The full text was not printed until 1904.
