A complex plot that hooks you from the very first page. All the threads will weave into a single tapestry.
This time, Alexey Ivanov has turned to science fiction. A team of loggers travels by all-terrain vehicle through the dense forests of the Urals toward an abandoned military facility in the mysterious Yamantau mountain. And the world around them—it seems like ours, but not quite... The geography is real, yet the villages and towns are empty, the factories are dead, and the roads are overgrown with trees. Most importantly, the forest itself has changed. Its vegetation has been artificially accelerated for timber harvesting, and it has mutated. It lives a life of its own. It has turned against civilization: in its depths hide "plague-walkers"—maddened machines, and people here are losing their biological nature. Although, is it only their biological nature?.. The logging crews are no better than the world around them: they are competitors, and there is a war between them.
