The book by Alexander Raskin includes short and funny, instructive and funny stories about childhood that a father tells to his little daughter Sasha. In each such story, little dad behaves like an ordinary boy: it happens that he is capricious and greedy, boasts or is a coward, but he also writes poetry, trains dogs, plays ping-pong, and loves to read and draw. And although little dad lives in another, long-ago world, he himself is real and understandable, not at all ideal, and therefore immediately inspires trust and sympathy.
The book is published for the first time with illustrations by Ekaterina Zhirkova, which perfectly convey the author’s humor and the atmosphere of childhood, how it was almost a hundred years ago.
