What is this book about? About Federico the sad clown, Nadira the beautiful witch, and Rumpelstiltskin the insidious gnome? Certainly. And also about the Rafinelli circus, where, under a colorful big-top tent, vegetarian predators and the world's only evil elephant, monkeys in cowboy hats and a worm-man have all gathered, along with an elderly Snow White and the seven dwarves.
The book reminds us that we are all different and that appearances are often deceptive—a fairy-tale prince may not be a stunning beauty, and a man without arms or legs can be the greatest optimist in the entire circus troupe.
It is about the fact that family is very important. Even if your parents are a boisterous man-eating clown and a bearded clowness. And also that true laughter should only be kind, and that love and friendship save the world. Proof of this is the feeling that emerged between a kind prince, a clown in a red wig, and a strange girl with an eye patch. All the main characters of the book do not conform to generally accepted norms in any way. Neither in appearance, nor in the way they express parental feelings, brotherly relations, friendship, etc. Nevertheless, they all, even the evil gnome Rumpelstiltskin, have the right to love and forgiveness. The book leaves one with hope for the best and the belief that everything will be okay.
And finally: by no means does everyone laugh at the falls of others. There are far more good and kind people than bad and evil ones. It's just that they are harder to see.
