Everything an educated person of any age needs to know about economics can be found in this book. Who pays Grandma and Grandpa their pension? What is a bank and why does it offer loans? Where are taxes hidden? How is a state budget formed? And even – how can we save the economy from a crisis? Economics is one of those topics that parents do not discuss with their children because, as the author rightly notes, they often do not understand it themselves.
The book’s author, Boguś Janiszewski – a well-known Polish popularizer of science – knows how to explain such seemingly complex things to children in simple words. His duo with illustrator Max Skorwider is a magnificent example of a modern approach to learning, where there is no room for dry formulations, but plenty of vivid examples and cool visual material. They have proven that it is possible and necessary to talk to children about finances, because one day they will grow up and have the opportunity to influence the future of our country.
