Stories about the little Elephant and his friends were born in the middle of the last century — that was when poet David Samoilov and composer Boris Tchaikovsky decided to create a radio play for little ones.
The stories became so beloved by listeners that they soon turned into a book and even a cartoon. The book contains four tales: "The Elephant Goes to School," "The Elephant's Birthday," "The Elephant Tourist," and "The Elephant Gets Sick."
The illustrations for the book were drawn by Nadezhda Bugoslavskaya — and the characters of the tales became even more vivid and comical.
