Emigration is an old phenomenon that survived the peak of poetization during the First World War and was strongly romanticized thanks to Wassily Kandinsky, Ivan Bunin and Fyodor Chaliapin.
They always leave their homeland for a reason - this is a huge test for character, a certain scrapping and a shift in fate, a challenge that a person throws both to himself and to the world. The largest artists of the beginning of the last century and the present went through emigration, and Dina Rubin did not pass it, whose work became the unconditional tuning fork of Russian literature of the end of the century.
In this book, the author specially collected stories that are somehow related to the topic of gaining a new land and abandoning the old land. They have humor, and sadness, and irony, and compassion, embracing everyone with whom this has just happened or who will have it.
The experience of emigration cannot be universal, and at the same time, it - transmitted from a great artist - tends to help and support.
It is for this reason that this book was created.
