The Heffley family has long outgrown their small house, but they’ve had a stroke of luck: a distant relative left them a small inheritance, and now they can build an extension and improve their living situation. However, it’s not that simple—along with the old walls, their new hopes are crumbling too. Rotting wood, toxic mold, pesky insects, and something else, far more sinister, are making Greg’s already difficult life even harder. He patiently endures blow after blow, pondering important questions along the way. Is the renovation worth the effort? Perhaps it would be easier to find a new house and move to another town?
