Greg Heffley and sports just don't mix.
After a disastrous experience at school, Greg decides that his sports career is not meant to be. But his mom convinces him to give sports one more chance, and he reluctantly agrees to try out for basketball. Or, rather, to give it a try. However, it seems that happy times are over: his mom is determined to turn Greg into a basketball player. Having once achieved success in the sport herself, she ensures her son is taken onto the school basketball team without a second thought. Now, all that's left for Greg to do is become a sports star. In other words: get involved in another escapade, bump his head a dozen times, and, of course, kick off a series of completely CRAZY events.
