One of the most important works penned by E. Uspensky is "About Vera and the Monkey Anfisa" (titled "About Vera and Anfisa" in our edition). It is an entire series of amusing stories that began when the "Malysh" publishing house commissioned the author E. Uspensky to write educational tales for preschoolers about the dangers that might await them at home, on the street, at the clinic, and in kindergarten. However, the short stories about the ubiquitous monkey and the "proper" Vera quickly outgrew the scope of the commission and turned into a cycle of cheerful works, and eventually into cartoons. This book includes only the classic stories.
