Over the years of her writing career, Eleanor Porter created four volumes of short stories and fourteen novels, but she owes her worldwide and enduring fame to the phenomenal success of her 1913 children's novel, "Pollyanna." The book was immediately met with an enthusiastic reception from readers of all ages, and print runs in the millions could not satisfy the demand for it. Even now, a hundred years later, it is frequently adapted by theater and film directors, and new editions continue to be released.
This immortal story about a girl ready to generously share her warmth with everyone around her has been illustrated by Alexandra Liukkonen, an artist who creates pictures for people "who have not forgotten how to believe in miracles and magic…".
