The first department store for women has opened in Paris: a true magic world where it is so easy to lose one's head. At the sight of the "Ladies' Paradise" window displays, few women could resist the temptation to possess all the splendor on offer. Wide ribbons of expensive lace, ready-to-wear outfits made of silk, velvet, and cashmere—here, one can find anything to suit one's taste!
Young Denise Baudu cannot believe she will find herself on the other side of the counter. Having joined the store as a salesgirl, she stubbornly climbs toward her goal—to build a career in order to provide for her brothers. Yet, in truth, all women want the same thing: to love and be loved. The store owner is taken with Denise, but Denise knows for sure: the Cinderella story is just a fairy tale. But sometimes, albeit rarely, a fairy tale can become reality.
