“Ariol” is a series of fun comics about the everyday life of a little donkey and his best friend, a mischievous but very endearing piglet. Together they go to school, go on vacation, play, and goof around. They were created by Emmanuel Guibert, one of the most respected French comic book artists and winner of the René Goscinny Award for screenwriting, and illustrated by the well-known children's illustrator Marc Boutavant.
“Ariol” is one of the rare examples in today’s whirlwind of comics of a truly family-friendly read, in which everyone, regardless of age, will find something for themselves. Anyone who has kept even a drop of the child within them. Not the all-knowing and all-denying teenager, but the child—naive, curious, and free from clichés and stereotypes.
Ariol is an ordinary little donkey in glasses. He lives in the suburbs with his mom and dad. His best friend is a piglet, his homeroom teacher is a huge dog, and his P.E. teacher is a plump rooster. In other words, Ariol is just like you and me.
