"Ariol" is a series of fun comics about the daily life of a little donkey and his best friend, a mischievous but very likable piglet. They go to school together, go on vacation together, play together, and goof around together. They were created by Emmanuel Guibert, one of the most respected French comic artists and winner of the René Goscinny Award for excellence in screenwriting, and illustrated by the renowned children's illustrator Marc Boutavant.
"Ariol" is one of the rare examples in today's whirlwind of comics of a truly family-friendly read, in which everyone will find something for themselves, regardless of age. Anyone who has kept even a drop of the child within them. Not a know-it-all, cynical teenager, but a child — naive, curious, and free from clichés and stereotypes.
Do you know the Chevalier Mustang song? No? Then here are the lyrics: "Chevalier Mustang — superstar captain! Chevalier Mustang — super-cosmic titan! Chevalier Mustang — interplanetary hurricane! Chevalier Mustang! He brings goodness to us all!" Naturally, Ariol knows it by heart. Ask him, and he will gladly sing it for you, and you'll be able to hum along yourself.
