“Ariol” is a series of fun comics about the everyday life of a little donkey and his best friend, a mischievous but very likable piglet. They go to school together, go on vacation together, play together, and goof off together. They were created by Emmanuel Guibert, one of the most respected French comic artists and a winner of the René Goscinny Award for screenwriting, and illustrated by the renowned children's illustrator Marc Boutavant.
“Ariol” is one of the rare examples in today's whirlwind of comics of truly family-friendly reading, in which everyone will find something for themselves, regardless of age. Anyone who has kept even a drop of the child within them. Not a know-it-all, cynical teenager, but a child — naive, curious, free from clichés and stereotypes.
Petula is very beautiful, and she smells good, too. In class, Ariol sits right behind her and is always paying her compliments, and sometimes even confesses his love... Well, only in his mind, that is. But as soon as he is face to face with Petula, all his confessions get stuck somewhere. They just won't come out, that's all! Yes, puppy love doesn't come easily to little donkeys!
