The book’s heroes are two little mice: the restless, resourceful inventor Shustrik and the cautious, polite Tishka. Something is always happening to these friends. One moment, they are constructing a "chicken-plane" out of chicken feathers and managing to take flight. The next, they come up with a way to feast on grapes hanging too high: a well-aimed shot at the berries with a slingshot, and the grape juice flows right into their mouths. And if you attach skates to a crate and add a sail, you get a great ice boat. You can also hollow out a pumpkin to get both a sled for sliding down hills and a boat for sailing in an ice hole.
