At the Atomic Research Center in Sbrodj, Syldavia, the lunar rocket has launched, carrying Tintin and Snowy, Captain Haddock, Professor Calculus, and engineer Wolff. The control center waits anxiously for the first space explorers to wake up after the launch's G-forces, but all attempts to establish contact are in vain: there is still no response. Meanwhile, somewhere far away, unknown figures are listening to the Earth's call signs: for them, the lunar mission is of more than just scientific interest... So begins the second part of a lunar thriller that keeps the reader in suspense until the very last page. An endless series of incredible events calls into question whether the heroes will ever make it back to Earth safely.
