"Pine Fortress" is a psychological story for teenagers. When you're fourteen, wild life at the summer cottage is a real adventure! The protagonist of this novella is left completely on his own for the first time, looking after the household while the rest of his family swelters in the stuffy summer city. But he has with him a blank sketchbook waiting to be filled with drawings and his grandfather's old 36-exposure film camera. The idyll of summer solitude is slightly disrupted by the arrival of his best friend, but having him around makes it even more fun to ride bikes through the village and swim in the lake. During one of these excursions, the friends set up their own secret lair: the Pine Fortress.
But soon, not a trace will remain of the harmony and calm of those summer days. Someone special will come between the friends, someone who wasn't in their original plans... In this sweltering summer of thunderstorms, the most important and significant thing will happen—something that will change the lives of both friends forever.
