The ability to discreetly but psychologically accurately convey the sensations of “madness and horror,” hope and complete despair, to truthfully show scenes of cruelty and self-sacrifice, manifestations of cowardice and courage - all this allows us to call “Steep Route” an outstanding literary work. The main value of the novel is that it teaches to maintain courage and dignity, helps to get rid of the “great Fear”, which is capable of destroying the destinies and lives of an entire generation.
