Frida Nilsson: Jagger, Jagger!
The usual price $24.95Nobody in the courtyard wants to be friends with Bengt because he is "fat and nasty." The neighborhood kids bully him and are constantly mean to him. He takes it calmly and philosophically, but tries not to show his face in the courtyard unnecessarily.
One day, while Bengt was taking out the trash, the kids locked him in the trash shed. That is how he met Jagger — a stray dog who lives in an empty dumpster nearby and scavenges in trash cans with a plaid shopping cart.
Unexpectedly, Jagger becomes Bengt’s best friend — this half-dog, half-human understands Bengt better than his parents, who smile sweetly and pretend that everything is fine. And with a best friend, everything changes — for the better!
The book will show children that the "eye for an eye" principle does not provide real satisfaction, and that hatred of a common enemy as a basis for friendship is vastly overrated. Choosing not to trade places with the bully is, perhaps, one of the main conditions for a happy ending.
