A poignant story of compassion and cruelty, of friendship and betrayal, and of that boundless devotion of which not every human is capable, which led Bim the Irish setter to follow his master for as long as he was able to walk.
The novella, which gave us the opportunity to look at the world through the eyes of a dog, was awarded the USSR State Prize and has for decades left neither young nor adult readers indifferent.
