"The Girl and the Dinosaur" is a story about believing in the impossible and the breathtaking power of imagination.
Little Marianne lives in a small seaside town. While playing in the sand, she finds ancient dinosaur bones. Marianne longs for a friend! She wishes for the Dinosaur to come to life and become her loyal companion. And one night, her dream comes true! Together, the girl and the Dinosaur embark on an exciting journey to a magical place where childhood dreams and fantasies come to life.
The story of Marianne includes a nod to the life of the 19th-century self-taught paleontologist Mary Anning. As a woman, Mary could not officially pursue the work she had been passionate about since childhood. Yet, this did not stop her from making a series of remarkable discoveries in the field of paleontology. In 2010, Mary Anning was named one of the ten British women who have had the greatest influence on the development of science.
