"14 Forest Mice" is a book series, very popular in Japan and many European countries, about the beauty of everyday life and the lives of three generations of a mouse family: grandma, grandpa, mom, dad, and ten little mice.
The twelfth and final book in the series is Moon Viewing. One full moon night, the mice gather provisions and head to a high branch to build a platform and admire the moon. As always, together, harmoniously, and attentively, the mice work, rest, and truly enjoy life. If only we could all learn from them. And why not? The full moon is coming soon! Iwamura's books are reminiscent of miniature dollhouses where you want to examine and touch every detail, and every small event is filled with a truly Japanese philosophy of admiring life in every moment.
