A story about school, friendship, and betrayal through the eyes of an outsider. A book that leads the reader along the path of growing up as if through mysterious trails. An urban fairy tale imbued with a love for life.
Aida understands the language of animals and birds, knows how to cast spells and play with lightning. She likes living with her grandmother in a small house: there is an apple tree and a bench, drawings and notebooks, clay figurines and homemade dreamcatchers, and painted birds live behind the rug on the wall. Dogs and a semi-feral cat named Samposebe come here. The attic and the shed, the fence with secret passages lead to hidden trails that only Aida knows about – the Glassblower's Wand, the Coronation Portal, the Path of the Sleepers… In short, if Luna Lovegood were in the fifth grade at a regular school, she would be very much like Aida. As in any school story, there is room here for friendship, betrayal, and unexpected discoveries.
