Each book in the "Dino Friends" series tells the story of one day in the life of Rasmus Rex the Tyrannosaurus and his best friend Trim Troodon. In the third book, Trim invites Rasmus to explore what lies north of Dinosauria, beyond the Rocky Mountains. Rasmus, a bit of a coward, fears that crocodile-mosquitoes and other monster-saurs live behind the mountains and doesn't want to leave home without permission. But Trim, a true adventurer, convinces him that there are only good, kind dinosaurs beyond the mountains, and that he and Rasmus can quickly run to the edge of the map, peek over the Rocky Mountains, and return immediately. No one will even know. But things don't go as quickly as planned. The friends face sheer cliffs, steep climbs, and other dangers ahead, and it is unknown how this trek might have ended if not for the vigilance of Mama Rex.
The book series about the adventures of the dino friends was written and illustrated by author Lars Mæhle and artist Lars Rudebjer. They have created the entire land of Dinosauria, where something funny and unexpected awaits the child on every page. The book contains many dialogues, making it perfect for reading aloud or role-playing with children aged 4 and up.
In addition to an engaging plot and cute characters, there is a short educational section at the beginning and end of the book. Young readers will learn some interesting facts about who dinosaurs were, when they lived on Earth, and why they disappeared, and will be introduced to the real dinosaurs that served as prototypes for the book's characters.
