“For many years my childhood was torn in half by a gymnasium conduit and Shvambrania, a fictional country that my brother and I discovered in order to hide in its comforting expanses from the many insults that the old world of adults inflicted on us,” said writer Lev Kassil in his memoirs .
One winter evening in 1914, the brothers Lyolya and Oska, serving sentences in the corner, created the Great State of Shvambran. The country with the highest degree of justice found its inhabitants, rulers, geography and history, and the game captured the children for many years.
The heroes of the story, like its author, grow up against the backdrop of grandiose historical events. It turns out that wars and revolutions shock not only invented states... So real life with all its difficulties one day becomes more important for young shvambrans than a fairy-tale country.
For children of middle school age.
