Leo Tolstoy was a great Russian writer, philosopher, and thinker.
The trilogy "Childhood. Boyhood. Youth," based on the young Tolstoy's diary entries, tells of the formation of a child's personality, the quest for self-determination, and finding one's place in the outside world. The protagonist, Nikolenka Irtenyev, matures before our eyes: he plays with friends, falls in love, writes poetry, experiences the death of his mother, and enters university.
