Pavel Grigoryevich Ponomarenko is one of the best artists of the Soviet period who illustrated Russian folk tales. His works can safely be called masterpieces of book illustration. For his illustrations, P. G. Ponomarenko was repeatedly awarded medals at international book exhibitions and competitions.
