Kristina was sure there was nothing worse than living in a dull little town, going to a school she loathed, and dreaming only of breaking free into the big, adult world. Why, even the lives of circus performers are more interesting! Oh yes, much more interesting! To survive, you have to burn in fire and not be consumed. Or stare into the eyes of a jaguar without fear. Or dodge wild hounds.
Kristina would be happy to return to her familiar life, but... who is that in the window of her own apartment, next to her parents and brother? A second Kristina?! Kristina realizes that her place has been taken by an exact copy of herself, and that no one can see her. She must urgently figure out what happened at the cursed circus and how to get her life back…
