On Fifth Avenue in New York stands a small building, indistinguishable from the others. Its residents cannot take a step without their elevator operator, Deepak, who operates a mechanical elevator—a curious, vintage contraption. The carefree life of the building's inhabitants comes to an end the day Deepak's colleague, the night elevator operator, falls down the stairs. Sanjay, Deepak's nephew, who has unexpectedly arrived in New York from Mumbai, saves the day by taking the place of the injured man. It never occurs to anyone who he really is... And Chloe, who lives on the top, ninth floor, has no idea either.
