Counting rhymes are one of children's favorite poetic genres. Short, catchy verses are easy to memorize. You can simply read them and enjoy meeting the funny and touching characters, but it's even better to learn them by heart and show off a brand-new counting rhyme to your friends.
Cheerful, rhythmic lines will help children develop their memory and diction, and most importantly, allow them to count off quickly and fun in any game! Short, funny counting-out stories help instill a love of poetry even in those children who struggle to grasp verse at first. Counting rhymes develop a child's sense of rhythm.
