Mikhail Mikhailovich Prishvin (1873-1954) was a writer, publicist, and "singer of Russian nature." Throughout his life, M. Prishvin observed the world around him and kept diaries. In addition, he was seriously interested in photography, or, in the writer's own words, "light-writing." Many of M. Prishvin’s lifetime editions were published with photographs he had taken himself. In the book "Fox Bread. Stories," the writer's works are illustrated by the Russian artist Ivan Tsygankov.
M. Prishvin's stories about nature are included in school curricula for both required and extracurricular reading. This collection contains such famous works by the author as "Fox Bread," "Lugovka," "The Golden Meadow," "The Birch Bark Tube," and others, as well as an excerpt from the novella "The Sun's Storehouse."
