Natalya Evdokimova is the author of many children's and young adult books, as well as scripts for the "Yeralash" newsreel, and a finalist for many literary awards. This book features two main characters, preschoolers Mitya and Lika. Lika is a whole year older than her brother, which makes her taller, bigger, and more experienced. Mitya sometimes envies Lika, and they even argue from time to time—but they always find common ground. They are united by their love for their mom and dad, of course, and also by the kindergarten they both attend—albeit in different groups. The book is dedicated to their arguments, reconciliations, adventures, walks, and spontaneous wishes and ideas.
Mitya is a big boy now. But Lika is even bigger! By a year—and half a head. Lika and Mitya do everything together. But in their own different ways! They go for walks. Lika has a wooden truck, and Mitya has a little boat. They visited the zoo. Lika liked the pigeon. Mitya liked the sparrow. (Dad’s hopes for an elephant and a giraffe were in vain!) And it’s always like that! Especially when they want to please Mom and Dad. For that, they can even make up!
