The textbook is based on the concepts and pedagogical approaches to mathematics instruction developed by S. I. Shvartsburd, N. Ya. Vilenkin, and A. S. Chesnokov.
The textbook consists of two parts. The first part is devoted to the divisibility of numbers, common fractions, and operations with them. The system of assignments in the textbook is divided into three main groups: for classroom work, for reviewing previously covered material, and for homework. Within these groups, special icons mark tasks for oral practice, tasks for group work, and practical exercises.
In addition, there are sections that help students learn how to speak, reason, and think correctly, allowing them to successfully master universal learning skills, as well as a section dedicated to the history of mathematics.
Each section concludes with the "Applying Mathematics" feature, which contains assignments that demonstrate the connection between mathematics and other sciences and areas of activity.
