Nick Sharratt: The Cat and the King
The usual price $21.95 Long live the king! He was not distinguished by an imperious character or the ability to fight desperately, but that's okay, because the king had a very smart cat. And then one day the king and the cat had to look for a new home, as their castle burned down (Terrible Incident with the dragon, this sometimes happens). Now the king needs to learn all sorts of useful skills: wash clothes, go shopping and ride the bus. But what to do if the annoying fire-breathing dragon decided to visit them again?
Nick Sharratt is considered to be one of the most successful contemporary artists. He has illustrated over 250 books ranging from stories for children to teen novels. He has worked with authors such as Julia Donaldson, Jacqueline Wilson, Michael Rosen. And Nick himself wrote about 40 books. He was the official illustrator for World Book Day 2006, received a fellowship from Hereford College of Art and a gold badge for the BBC children's television programme.
"The Cat and the King" is a kind and funny story that even kings sometimes have a hard time in the midst of everyday affairs.
