Everything in this book is pedagogically useful and artistically beautiful.
Firstly, a dynamic and instructive story about a stupid cockerel who fell into fox tricks three times and ended up in her paws. It is good that reliable friends the cat and the thrush each time rescued him from trouble.
Secondly, the magnificent Russian language and a clear presentation of all the dramatic events of a fairy tale, understandable to children, performed by Alexei Nikolayevich Tolstoy, a versatile writer, a talented interpreter of fairy tales.
Thirdly, brilliant, one-of-a-kind illustrations by the animal painter Evgeny Mikhailovich Rachev. "Rachevsky" animals completely preserve natural plasticity. But due to the fact that they are all dressed in Russian national costumes, they walk and sit like people, and they have a wide variety of expressions on their faces, a hint of human characters and relationships is easily guessed in them.
For example, a fox: it’s immediately obvious - such an affectionate one, but don’t expect good from her - an impudent liar, a cunning one.
Recommended for adults to read to young children, as well as for discussions about obedience together and looking at the beautiful, vibrant illustrations.
