The Russian folk tales included in this collection are illustrated by Anatoly Eliseev, a People's Artist of Russia and one of the pioneers of the Soviet "humorous book." The fairy-tale world he created is inhabited by incredibly kind, vibrant, lively, easily recognizable, and relatable characters. And deeply beloved ones: more than one generation of children has been introduced to fairy tales through the drawings of this very master.
This collection includes the following tales: "Marya Morevna," "Nikita the Tanner," "Sivka-Burka," "At the Pike's Behest," "The Flying Ship," "Baba Yaga," and "Rejuvenating Apples."
