What kind of strange dog lives with brothers Kolya and Vasya?
He looks like a bench,
And a duck, and a jackdaw,
He waddles along.
He is bow-legged and long-nosed,
His ears hang to the floor!
Samuil Marshak wrote these very cheerful and positive verses. In them, the dog is called Wax-Blot.
The dog is very devoted to his owners, ready to follow them to the ends of the earth, retrieve a real soccer ball for the boys, and even do battle with a whole pack of rats. And yet, is he ugly or beautiful? Experts at a dog show will answer that question.
Psychologically expressive and cheerful illustrations for "Wax-Blot" were created by the famous artist Aminadav Kanevsky, the creator of the image of the fluffy yellow Murzilka. His drawings are distinguished by lively humor and comic exaggeration of situations and characters. They were executed in Kanevsky's favorite style of pen-and-ink drawing with watercolor coloring.
