"Cinderella" is one of the most famous stories, the plot of which was embodied in fairy tales of different peoples of the world. The tale was first discovered in ancient Egyptian papyri. But the version of the French writer and collector of folk tales Charles Perrault turned out to be the most popular of all. And this is not surprising. After all, it is Perrault's Cinderella that is filled with sparkling lightness, irony and fun. It does not have the cruelty of the revengefulness of the German version of the fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm or the emotional pretentiousness of the "Cinderella Cat" by the Italian Giambattista Basile. For this edition, we have retranslated the first edition of Charles Perrault's fairy tale from 1675. And the artist Anton Lomaev accompanied it with illustrations that send the reader to France of the 17th century - the century of brilliant kings and court intrigues, magnificent balls, gilded carriages and musketeers, the century of golden fairy tales.
