This book is the story of finding not only a best friend, but also oneself. It is a tale of compassion, love, and mutual support that will make you look at cats and dogs in a whole new light. Lika, a high school student, is a volunteer at a dog shelter. McKay is a huge stray dog who has been living there for almost a year, yet he continues to bare his teeth at anyone who tries to enter his kennel. They say McKay's former owner often abused him, which is why he grew up so vicious. But Lika believes that she can earn the grumpy pet's trust.
However, one day McKay disappears from the shelter, and Lika suddenly finds herself in some other world, where mysterious Larts—who look like humans—live, along with certain "friends" who sometimes behave worse than enemies… What is happening, where has she ended up, and most importantly, how can she return home—Lika will have to find the answers to all these questions. And to do that, she must find the missing McKay.
