The author of this fascinating and touching story is an Englishman. He spent most of his life in Canada, living among an indigenous tribe. It was there that he adopted the name Grey Owl, and under this name, he became known to the world as the author of this book and as a passionate defender of the pristine wilderness of North America. The author believed that all people should adopt the respectful, poetic attitude that Canadian indigenous people hold toward the vast forests and our lesser brothers. This story tells us that love and friendship can work wonders.
A girl named Sajo and her brother Shapian are children from an indigenous tribe. One day, their father brings them two small beaver kits who have lost their family. The children become deeply attached to these sweet animals. But one day, they are forced to part with one of the beavers; the little one faces a hard life in captivity. To save their beloved pet, the children embark on a long and dangerous journey, overcoming many obstacles at the risk of their lives. Fortunately, they meet many good people along the way who help them bring their little friend back home.
