"Una" is the fourth book in the "Seven Spinners" series (the publisher has previously released "Mia," "Chiara," and "Tairin"), though readers are free to choose the order in which they experience the stories, for everyone has their own path. Each new book tells the story of another girl destined with a special ability: to destroy or preserve worlds. In this series, the author's mastery is revealed from an unexpected angle, and the tales gain a particular depth and parabolic quality. Far, far away from the capital of the Empire, in a cold northern sea, lies a deserted island shaped like a spindle. Two people live there: an angry old man and a silent girl. The old man has a book he prays to every morning and thick notebooks in which he records every day he lives. The girl has nothing: no toys, no parents, no name. But one day, a bird flies to the island, and the old man dies...
The novella "Una" continues the "Seven Spinners" series, an engaging fantasy by Tamara Mikheeva, author of numerous works for children and teenagers and a winner of several literary awards.
